2.05.03 Colour usage: Age effects

Who does it affect?

Colour impairments are not the only factor. As you get older your eyesight slowly depreciates. This affects brightness & contrast as the lens stiffens, and focus with the onset of long-sight.

Certain colour combinations may become difficult to see. Avoid poor colour contrast and endeavour to make text-size adjustable by the user.

Eye-sight: 20/30
Crystalline lens transparency (Age): 40

Age orientated deficiencies start to manifest. Allowing the user to control the text size is becoming an important aide.

Notice the contrast fades and the text blurs as age increases.
